About me
I’m Julien Alexandre, 3D Artist and Level-Designer.
I started creating various things for my favorite video-games many long time ago and discovered Quake, ID Tech3, Gold-Source and the Source Engine games that allowed me creating endless worlds in univers that I really enjoyed and bring life in. I quickly found and learned 3D modeling to make more unique, realistic and quality content and expand my professional qualifications & fields of activity.
Back in 2014, I co-created the CSC-Groupe Studio, a french company that work on various 3D projects for video-game industry, animation movies and architecture. Today I’m still working in this studio, but I also keep my independency by being freelance and allow me working on anything else. Working in the 3D industry being a real passion for me since I was kid, it was the logical next step.
At the moment, I worked on hundreds of models of every type. I’m obviously specialized in specific categories like industrial props, modular sets, office items, furniture, foliage and modern or abstract designs. I work on static and decorative elements, but I can work on complex models with sequences and animations, depending of the needs. Most of the models that I create are suited and optimized for video game engines and almost all are pre-compiled for the Source Engine.

Knowledges
- Lead a project from its start from scratch to its final stage with a team up to 3-4 developers,
- Follow customer's needs and studying his project to make content that match with its work,
- Design and develop a Source Engine game level for a specific need or artistic direction,
- Create original high quality assets (models, textures, sounds) designed specifically for the need of the project, because each one has its own atmosphere, style, story and artistic direction,
- Make realistic and believeble game textures ready for level designers,
- Very used to modular modeling (pipes, ducts, bars, structures, etc...) and how to facilitate use by level-designers while offering great versatility and optimization,
- Studying level's consistency with real world elements and project's continuity,
- Reading a render budget and work on levels optimizations based on video-games standards hardware's and memory usage,
- Importance of lighting & color theory to work on the atmosphere and guide the player,
- Making very advanced logic gameplay mechanics with only maps entities (See my dev features playlist).
